Arsenal target Gervinho said those words in 2008, along with I need to work hard and I have always dreamed about playing with Arsenal.
His dream now looks to turn into reality as Arsenal are looking at him as a partner for Van Persie, and replacement for Bendtner.
Lille manager Frederic Paquet said a while back,
“He wants to go and has developed contacts with Arsenal,” Paquet told L’Equipe. “We will soon have talks with them and see what they offer. He has expressed a desire to go to England and we will see what happens.”
Gervinho scored 18 goals in total for Lille last season, with a good 10 assists to partner that.
Gervinho can play on either wing and with him being a natural winger, Wenger could revert back to the 4-3-3 replacing Bendtner with Gervinho. He can also score with his head and has great skill to get past players and also has terrific speed. Gervinho, like Van Persie, isn’t afraid to go for goal from an acute angle either.
The 24 year old will cost Wenger some £11-13m, and has potential to become a great player for Arsenal.
