After an unfortunate loss to Manchester City in the League Cup Tuesday night, Arsenal will be hoping to regain some winning momentum with a win over struggling Wigan Athletic. Arsenal currently lie 7th in the league table, 3 points behind 4th place Newcastle United while Wigan are at the other end of the tree. Having completed a win 2-1 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, Wigan are now 19th, 2 points ahead of Blackburn Rovers.
Arsenal are looking to play a more familiar line up than the one in midweek. A rested Van Persie, Walcott and Co. means that the Gunners should come up firing on all cylinders.
I am expecting a familiar line up: Szczesny; Santos-Vermaelen-Mertesacker-Koscielny; Song-Arteta-Ramsey; Gervinho-Van Persie-Walcott
Arsenal should have no problems with this Wigan side. This season in the League, Van Persie has hit 13 goals, while the entire Wigan side has hit 12. Van Persie and Walcott could terrorize the Wigan defence, whom have conceded 24 goals this season
.Anything except 3 points will be a disappointment and I’m sure that we will come up with a hammering tomorrow.
Come on Arsenal!
