Fiorentina Firm Over Jovetic- Joining Forward Speaks

Hello fellow Gooners, welcome to a slow Sunday. The rumors are starting to die down a little, mainly because the media are currently going over Jose Mourinho’s imminent return to Chelsea, or being mean to Suarez. Anyways, as always, there is a little bit of news to report.

We start off with one man who is getting way too much attention, Stevan Jovetic. Juventus are in talks with Fiorentina and look the most likely to sign him, although it is unclear whether they are going to meet their asking price. The way I see it, Jovetic goes to Juventus, Higuain comes to Arsenal, and vice versa. Fiorentina general manager said;

“Jovetic is on the market then it means that they want to sell it,” Juve general manager Beppe Marotta told Sky Italia.

“30 million cash, everyone has the right to make their own figures – but have our limits.”

So Arsenal will have to cough up £25.6m in order to get Jovetic. It is a lot of money to spend in Arsene’s terms, but it is definitely possible. Higuain’s asking price remains to be unclear, but I expect it would be somewhere in that region. I would personally rather Arsenal go for Higuain. Higuain is the more prolific of the two and the less risky. Not to say that I would be disappointed in any way if we do sign Jovetic.

I am Gooner

One player who is coming to Arsenal, Yaya Sanogo, didn’t even choose us as our first choice.

 “On balance, it was Lille or Arsenal. Initially, I wanted to go to Lille, but the approach of Wenger made the difference. Many say that my entourage chose for me. This is false. People like to talk … But it’s me playing.” Sanogo told L’Equipe.

Another signing who came only by Wenger. I remember something similar to Aaron Ramsey who decided to join us because of Wenger’s approach. Sanogo is definitely a project in work, but if he’s as good as he is in Football Manager, than Arsenal have a real gem in their system.

Finally, Jeorge Bird’s Arsenal Youth has reported that young Dan Crowley has in fact completed his move to Arsenal. An official announcement isn’t expected since he is only 15 years old. The days of Wenger signing youth have definitely not died, contrary to reports that may have been made at the end of the season.

That’s all for today. Enjoy watching England v Brazil…or grass die.
